# 1 Visualizing
Visualize a scene from the section you read. Draw a picture using color and creativity. Write a minimum of six sentences describing what is going on in this scene.
#2 Making Inferences
Did you have to use your background knowledge to make an inference? If so tell me about it. Write what the sentence said, and what you think it meant by using The text says… and I know that… So I infer that…
Example: It says that John's mother went to the store to buy cake, ice cream, and balloons. And I know that if my mom goes to the store to buy cake, ice cream, and balloons is because we are celebrating something. So I infer that John is having a surprise birthday party.
#3 Recounting Stories
Use the Somebody Wanted But So Then graphic organizer to write a summary of the story.
Somebody = Who is the main character?
Wanted = What did the character want?
But = What was the problem?
So = How did the character try to solve the problem?
Then = How did the story end?
Finally = what lesson or moral did the character learn?

Use color and creativity. Ex: Ms. Rosario is kind because she gives us time to finish the tests. She is sweet because she gives us a treat on our birthday. She is energetic because she works out every day. She is friendly because she is a good friend to the other teachers. She is responsible because she has all the plans ready for us to start the day.
